Gina is a Registered Acupuncturist, Traditional Chinese Medicine practitioner and the clinical director of the Life Centered Acupuncture Clinic. She studied traditional Chinese medicine extensively in the US and Japan. For the last 20 years Gina’s practice has been focused exclusively in fertility, pregnancy, gynecology and pain management.

Gina has been able to achieve a successful conception rate of 65% with couples diagnosed by western medicine as being ‘infertile’. Many have been able to conceive and deliver healthy babies with quicker recovery times and fewer post-partum side effects by participating in her specialized Life Centered Acupuncture Care program. This program blends Traditional Chinese Medicine with powerful meditation, visualization and spiritual methodologies along with the most modern up to date technology specifically created for acupuncturists to achieve optimal results.

When she was 12 years old her father underwent a triple bypass surgery. Desperate to help her father Gina spent hours in the library looking for answers. Discovering books on bio-feedback and Taoist philosophy created the foundation of learning about alternative medicine. Gina’s father was an engineer and he built bio-feedback machines for the two of them based on a book she borrowed from the library.  Father and daughter began practicing meditation and visualization to regulate their heart rates. This was her introduction to the concept of self-healing and blending ancient wisdom with modern techniques to improve health and wellbeing.

Growing up Gina suffered from altered proprioception, a serious cervical spine injury from playing sports and a chronic infection that western medicine couldn’t treat. Through these years Gina’s mother took her to the chiropractor and each time her condition improved significantly. However it was only after an extremely serious and traumatic car accident that Gina decided to change the course of her life and pursue studying alternative medicine. 

Having crushed her tiny car like a tin can, Gina’s neck had been immobilized and the doctors were  prescribing surgery. She chose to go to the chiropractor.  Within a year she was well enough to travel to Japan. There  Gina discovered Oriental medicine which greatly increased the range of motion in her neck and reduced the chronic pain from the 3 herniated discs in her neck from her accident. She felt so much better after 3 treatments that she began studying Oriental medicine.

Upon her return she changed her major from English to Fine Arts with a minor in holistic health at the Chinese Healing Arts department in San Francisco State University. Here she met her first teacher Dr. Angela C. Wu,  L.Ac, O.M.D. Dr Wu is a licensed acupuncturist and a certified doctor of Oriental Medicine with over 40 years of experience in acupuncture, herbology, and other Chinese healing arts. Dr. Wu is also the author of Fertility Wisdom: How Traditional Chinese Medicine Can Help Overcome Infertility. Gina spent years studying and practicing the art of professional acupuncture for increased fertility at Dr. Wu’s clinic.

Alongside her studies with Dr. Wu Gina spent seven years studying Tui Na (a specialized Traditional Chinese Medicine Therapy for bone, joint and tendon injuries) and a unique form of Qi Gong called Muscle Tendon Changing Qi Gong from with Professor Greg Zheng, from the Academy of Chinese Culture and Health Sciences. 

Gina also studied the art of Chi Nei Tsang (Internal Organ Energy Massage),  Ba Zi (theory of the Chinese Four Pillars of Destiny based on Yin Yang and Wu Xing –

5 Elements) and Feng Shui (a system of laws considered to govern spatial arrangement and orientation in relation to the flow of energy).

While pursuing her Masters at the renowned American College of Tradition Chinese Medicine Gina participated in several programs at the college and local hospitals:

• NADA auricular acupuncture program 
• The Haight Ashbury free clinic
• The Mission Clinic for HIV and AIDS 
• Stroke recovery 

Gina is a warm, compassionate practitioner, who believes patient education integrated with treatments is essential to achieving internal balance, for successful conception and a healthy pregnancy. She designs comprehensive treatment plans for each one of her patients, drawing on a variety of tools including acupuncture, body work, cupping, moxabustion, herbal medicines, nutrition and lifestyle guidance.  As a mindfulness practitioner herself, Gina always emphasizes the effects of stress and the importance of mental health with her patients.  Her approach to medicine is patient-centered and trauma-informed.

When Gina is not working at her clinic, you will find her diligently working on her Doctorate or continuing her education and building new skillsets to offer better service. She also loves to create healthfully indulgent meals, drink delicious Italian coffees, meditate, travel and hangout with her animal friends Remy Kitty, Petunia Picklesworth and Shi Fu the Tortoise
